Snow is melting
The snow has begun melting away from my first full day here. If you look back at my earlier posts you will see how much. Due to the snow melting it sure makes a muddy mess walking over to work everyday. Good thing I brought along some mud boots to use from my room to the kitchen.
Venus over the moon
A couple of days ago the moon was beautiful in the night sky at midnight with Venus above just slightly to the right. Days are getting longer and the nights shorter. I think the sun began to come up the last couple of days around 4 in the morning.

Bluer than blue!
Today as I walked down to the post office I looked to the sky and was amazed by the color and clarity of the sky. It was a brilliant blue with billowy clouds. Enjoy the picture. As I walked into the post office I glanced at the bulletin board I noticed the quote for the week. It was interesting enough to take a picture of to share with you all.
Good night International Space Station
Every night after work I look to the night sky and say good night to the Space station which is just above the trees in the night sky. It shines bright currently in the sky, but as the nights are getting shorter and days longer and I am not sure I will be able to see it as well as I can now.

Internet issues
Here in Central Alaska we receive our internet by satellite, so since we had a large group from the Travel Channel here last week it drastically reduced our band width and slowed our speed. Hence, I have been unable to post additional blogs. Have no fear I am back and with pictures to boot.

Steese Highway ends at Circle Alaska which is 28 miles from Central. People travel through Central on their way to the "end" of the road. Ironically enough it is at the "almost" end of the road that I have met a woman for whom I had delivered packages to in Michigan City Indiana at the Light House Mall. Then this evening chatting with another patron come to find out that her nieces live in Onalaska, Texas which is practically in my neighborhood back home! Strange how sometimes we find ourselves in places we have never been running into people with whom we have some connection to thousands of miles away!
